North East India is famous for many things like the only floating national park in the world, the rainiest place in the world, the cleanest village in Aisa, largest women’s only market in Asia, pleasant weather throughout the year, dowry free region in India, first organic state in the world, the origin of polo, etc. Today, I will show you 20 things you can find only in North East India including its rich floral and fauna, unique cultures, traditions, unique places, etc.

Plans

Arrival at Guwahati airport/station and transfer to Hotel. Guwahati City-The gateway to the northeast and the largest and most cosmopolitan city in the region. Afternoon visit the Peacock Island, located between the mighty river the Brahmaputra. You will be visiting the Island through local public ferry. Return back to Hotel. Over Night at Guwahati.

Full Day Guwahati City Tour. Early morning at 7.00 AM with packed breakfast visit the temple of Maa Kamakhya, Nabagraha Temple (temple of nine planets),Basistha & Balaji Temple etc. After lunch visit Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Science Museum, State Zoo, Govt. Emporium for shopping Overnight stay at Guwahati

Drive to Shillong (Alt 6825Ft / 2050M). Check in at Hotel. Afternoon visit sightseeing of shilling city covering Don Bosco Monument, Ward’s Lake where you can enjoy boating, Botanical Garden and Lady Hydri Park.Free Evening Overnight at Shillong.

After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (4869Ft/1484M). Cherrapunjee possesses some exotic waterfalls and impressive limestone caves, Mawkdok Viewpoint, Nohkalikai Falls, 7 Sister Falls, Thangkharang Park and Mawsmai Cave, which is one of the 100 odd limestone caves in Meghalaya. Afternoon back to Shillong en- route visit to Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Drive to Kaziranga (Alt 131Ft / 80M) & Hotel check in. Free evening. Overnight Kaziranga

Morning after breakfast visit to nearby villages. There is a nice tribal village called Mising Tribe Village which is about half an hour drive from the Park. Here you can see some village activities like waiving and farming. Afternoon explore central Zone by JEEP SAFARI, Kaziranga is also a bird watcher's paradise and home to some 500 species of birds. The Crested Serpent Eagle, Palla's Fishing Eagle, Greyheaded Fishing Eagle, Swamp Partridge, Bar-headed goose, whistling Teal, Bengal Florican, Storks, Herons and Pelicans are some of the species found here. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

Morning explore the Majuli Island in a PRIVATE FERRY. The world’s largest River Island is famous for its twenty-two 15th Century "satras". These are Hindu Vaishnev (followers of Lord Vishnu) monasteries functioning as centers of Assamese arts. The worship of Lord Vishnu is through dance, music and poetry. The satras take in young boys and groom them. The daily routine includes working in the fields, tending cattle, prayer, discussion and study. The satras have also nurtured certain art and craft traditions, which can now be found only here. In Natun Samugri satra for instance, one can still find the craft of mask-making; Kamlabari satra still makes the finest boats. We will also explore the villages of Miri tribes who live on this island. Drive to Kaziranga by Ferry 2 hours crossing and drive 3 hrs over/ night /hotel In the Island Non A.C Vehicle will be used to cover the Island Tourist point.

Drive to Sivasagar, Sightseeing of Sivadol, Biggest Hindu Temple, TALATAL Ghar, Rang Ghar, check into the Hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Mon District is a district of Nagaland, a state in India. It is the third-largest district in Nagaland in terms of area. The district has a population of 250,260 people. Mon Town is the headquarters of the district.

Two full days to explore this colorful tribal area of Konyak tribes who have been head hunters in the recent past. Visit Shangnyu village which is ruled by the Chief Angh and is a prominent village in Mon district. There is a wonderful wooden monument measuring 8 feet in height and 12 feet in breadth- believed to have been constructed by heavenly angels. Human beings and other creatures are carved on this monument. Memorial stones are also found in front of the Angh’s Palace. History records that good and friendly relationship existed between the Shangnyu and the Ahom Kings of Assam. Shangnyu Angh use to collect taxes from all the villages under his domain-extending from Sibsagar in Assam to the Wanchos in Arunachal. Also visit Sangha to see head hunting trophies and houses constructed in the true Konyak tradition with palm leaves roofing and the main pillars jutting out.

Drive to Dibrugarh . Checked in hotel. Overnight in Dibrugarh.

After breakfast by 11 Am checkout form Hotel and explore tea garden and tea factory. In Dibrugarh one can go around the tea gardens, which are located in, and around the town. A large number of tea estates are located along National Highway-37 covering large area of Dibrugarh district. Evening transfer to Railway station to board the overnight train to Siliguri.

Morning after arrival at Siliguri Rly station, transfer to Kurseong by car in 1.5hrs and chk into palace. This is a prime tea estate location in Darjeeling hills with world class tea gardens are situated here. Overnight

After Breakfast drive to station to take a TOY train ride to Darjeeling - 33 kms in 3.5hrs. Check into hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to roam around the city and Mall. Overnight.

After breakfast visit to Tiger Hill .On way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and back to hotel. Later proceed for a walk in the Lebong Area to see good mountain view and also to Tibetan Refugee Center. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

Morning drive to another picturesque village Rinchenpong (6,000 ft.) in West Sikkim. On arrival check-in to hotel. Later visit to Ati-Buddha Statue, Old stone Stupa, Rinchenpong Monastery. Evening Walk to the local village. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

Morning drive to Pelling. You can enjoy the spectacular Eastern Himalayan Range from Pelling. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast proceed for full day sight seeing including Pemayangtse Monastery, Rimbi Falls, and Kanchenjunga falls, Khecheopalri Lake. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

Morning proceed to Ravangla - Called "Birds eye view" (7000 ft.) On arrival check-in to hotel. After lunch visit Temi Tea Garden only Tea estate in Sikkim & the Gurupadmasambhava statue (135 ft.) It is said to be the highest statue of Guru Padmasambhaba in the World. Ralong Monastery, . Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

After Breakfast proceed for picturesque drive to Gangtok- "The Capital City of Sikkim". On arrival check-in to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast drive to Lachung (altitude 8800 ft) for about 6 hours. Enroute visit Singhik View point, Seven Sisters Water Falls, Naga Water Falls. Stop on way for lunch. On arrival check into hotel. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

Early Morning drive to Yumthang - Valley (known as Valley of Flowers), Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the Yaks & winter playgrounds of Yetis. On the way back visit Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Afternoon interact with the local people taking the idea of their simple lifestyle. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast drive for Gangtok enroute witness the Beautification of the wonderful Bheema & Twin Falls. On arrival at check-in to your hotel. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast proceed for full day city tour of Gangtok covering Rumtek Monastery, Botanical Garden, Do-Dul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Flower show and cottage industry. Evening free for personal activities & shopping. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to Kalimpong, 2.5 hrs drive. On arrival check-in to your hotel. Later proceed for a short city tour including visit to Delo Hills, Dr. Graham's Home & flower Nurseries . Evening free for own activities. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast transfer to Bagdogra Airport for onwards journey.
